TALK: ARE FABRICS OF THE FUTURE FOUND BELOW THE SEA LEVEL?

The sea is a vital resource in Nordic life – however, seldomly found within the fashion industry – or the everyday wardrobe.

As a part the exhibition HAV featuring designs from Blue Fashion Challenge 2017 as well as photos by the world-famous street style photographer Tommy Ton at Nikolaj Kunsthal, the talk Are fabrics of the future found below sea level?” is held on Sunday, January 28th 2018 at 14.00.

The talk gives different perspectives on why and how we as designers as well as consumers can start to recognise and use the various possibilities found in the marine resources from the North Atlantic region. Resources that the fishing industry is already harvesting.

Amongst the speakers are founder of Closed Loop Suzi Christoffersen, adviser at Nordic Atlantic Cooperation Jákup Sørensen, winner of Blue Fashion Challenge 2017 Sissal Kristiansen and the designer behind Sejr Copenhagen Birgitte Sejrsen.

Afterwards, all speakers are open for questions and will be present at the exhibition to continue the dialogue. The talk is held in Danish.

The exhibition is facilitated by Closed Loop on behalf of NORA (Nordic Atlantic Cooperation).

Venue: Nikolaj Kunsthal, Nikolaj Plads 10, København K. Opening hours: 27th – 30th from 14.00-15.00
