COPENHAGEN FASHION WEEK

Q&A with Charlotte Eskildsen

Written on 01/31/2019

For creative director of Designers Remix, Charlotte Eskildsen, an sustainable approach has always been the driving force behind her enphmouys label. Before Copenhagen Fashion Week we did a small Q&A about her favorite place to get a classical Danish lunch and sustainability within her own brand.

What’s sustainable fashion to you?

Upcycling and recycling, as we have been upcycling since Feb. 2002.  It is an important part of our name and our DNA.

I don’t think it’s enough just to make fashion out of natural fabrics – I believe a lot in the tech aspect of new materials as well. We need to design in new ways.

Will you reveal a highlight or two from your AW19 collection?

Yes, I am going to do a talk about sustainability with Eva Kruse followed by an exhibition and FW19 presentation called “Waste to Wardrobe”.

Portray a favorite #CPHFW show-memory.

I think it is the SS18 show at Cirkelbroen – such a sustainable Copenhagen moment with people on bikes and water all over the place. We actually won the ELLE Style Awards 2018 for “Best Show” for this show-memory.

Describe your perfect day off in Copenhagen, when you are not designing.

I will be having lunch with my kids at Victor. A super classic place that serves the traditional Danish lunch dishes and strolling around the Kings Garden.

If it its raining we will go to Statens Museum for Kunst or some of the galleries in the Meatpacking district like V1.
