CFW Postcard: Smeg

Italian design in Copenhagen

In Copenhagen borough Vesterbro the Italian home appliance manufacturer Smeg has its own Concept Store - a beautiful space where the customers can go and look at many of the products Smeg has to offer.

Smeg was originally founded by Vittorio Bertazzoni from Guastalla, a town near Reggio Emilia in northern Italy, and the Bertazzoni family's entrepreneurial history begins way back in the 19th century. Starting out as blacksmiths, the Bertazzonis soon branched out into building cookers.

In recent years, the company has received a lot of publicity for its collaboration with the fashion company Dolce & Gabbana. First out were the hand painted refrigerators and in 2017 the collection was accompanied with small household appliances. This year, however, Smeg presented a new range of products, including a cooker and matching hood in recognizable, stylish Dolce & Gabbana design.

In the Smeg store a Vesterbro you can experience the famous Dolce & Gabbana small appliances, the iconic 50 styles retro fridge in beautiful colours and industrial stainless-steel cookers that would be perfect in any kitchen.

Make sure to stop by the Smeg store at Vesterbrogade for a freshly made espresso and be inspired what the Italian brand has to offer.
